What happens when routine is disrupted? When shapes, colors, sounds, stories, and images stray from the norm? The 2025 Outline Festival does not seek to affirm the status quo, but to challenge it – through illustration, word, language, image, and space. Unusual is a crack in the existing order, through which the possibility of change seeps in – a moment in time that holds within it potential: a movement away from the expected and habitual, a call for disruption, for divergence, for unraveling.
It is a space suspended between hallucination and logic, where imagination does not aim to beautify or soothe, but to deconstruct, question, and open new directions of thought.
Outline – Illustration and Words in Jerusalem invites you to propose works, exhibitions, and actions that respond to, warn about, describe, and emerge from “the unusual”.
Submitting a Piece/Curated Collection to the Exhibition
You may submit existing or new works that deal with “the unusual” or respond to it.
Submission is open to illustrators from across the country.
Submissions must include:
- Name of the applicant
- Short CV
- A brief text describing the work/exhibition/general theme
- Relevant images
- Estimated budget including production costs of the work(s)
